A Little Asteroid

A little asteroid hung in space for many years. It circled the various orbits of the celestial bodies, performing a beautiful cosmic dance. At first, he enjoyed it, but over time he began to get bored. How many times can you watch the same thing? Still the same planets, still the same other asteroids and still the same emptiness of space. It's boring! So he decided to change it.

It was a dark night. Lily was sitting in her room as a bright streak cut through the sky. Something landed in her home's garden. Curious girl quickly jumped out of bed and ran to see what it was.

The fence was broken down, and where the flower bed had been before, there was now a small crater. In the middle of it, under the clouds of dust, there was... something. Lily wasn't sure exactly what it was. She bent down to check, and then it moved! She almost jumped out of her skin. Whatever it was, it was alive! She knew it was hazardous, but still she went slowly down to the crater, avoiding all obstacles.

The creature looked up at her with glowing eyes. It looked a bit like a cat, but more cosmic than a regular one. He had two pairs of ears, a moustache shining in the dark, and a very strange fur that looked like all the space was painted on it. The countless stars were flashing mysteriously.

‘You are a little creepy, huh?’, said Lily, keeping a safe distance. She tilted her head slightly, and the animal did the same. She murmured. The animal murmured too. She closed her eye. Animal repeated this move. He was mirroring her!

‘You...’ Lily began, but then the animal rose abruptly, in a few jumps crossed the invisible dividing line and jumped right into her arms. Tracking his movements, it was obvious that he was leaving behind a barely visible luminous streak in the air.

‘Oh, then fine. You will become my pet’, said Lily, stroking the almost-cat. She crossed the threshold of the house with a new friend.
